Georgia Tech found out on Monday the kickoff time for their showdown against currently top-5 ranked Notre Dame.
While Geoff Collins and his Georgia Tech program must focus on their upcoming talks against Boston College this weekend, they have learned the kickoff time for their game against Notre Dame on October 31.
On Monday afternoon, it was announced that the Jackets would kickoff against Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. with the game once again televised on ABC.
For the Jackets, it will be the fourth time they’ll place in a nationally televised game on ABC and fifth time overall. Previous games against Florida State, UCF, and Clemson were all nationally televised on ABC while their win over Louisville two Friday’s ago was televised nationally on ESPN.
The matchup against the Fighting Irish will provide the program with a chance for redemption against a top-ranked program especially after this past weekend’s 73-7 loss to Clemson.
The Yellow Jackets enter this weekend with a 2-3 record and will take on Boston College on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. with the game televised on the ACC Network. The Fighting Irish, on the other hand, are 4-0 and are ranked No.3 nationally after a 12-7 win over Louisville. This weekend, they’ll take on the Pittsburgh Panthers (3-3) at 3:30 p.m on ABC.
The game between the Yellow Jackets and the Irish was originally expected to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this season. However, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the game was moved to Bobby Dodd Stadium. The Jackets are currently scheduled to play a game each of the next four seasons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium including in 2022 against Clemson and 2024 against Notre Dame.
