The last four players in our player previews are all walk-one players, who will play deep reserve roles this season.

No.34 G Niko Broadway (SO):

An Atlanta native, Broadway is in second year with the program after a successful high school career at St. Pius X. Last season. Broadway appeared in four games against the Jackets, scoring his first career points against Morehouse. For the season he was 1-for-4, finishing with two point, four rebounds, and three assists. Playing time in the 2020-21 season will be extremely limited for Broadway.

No.35 F Jahloni James (SO):

The 6-foot-6 forward is also entering his second year with the program after joining last season. James made his collegiate debut last year against Elon and picked up his first pair of points in the game as well. James like Broadway will rarely see the court in the 2020-21 season.

No.45 G Shaheed Medlock (SR):

Medlock is entering his last year with the program and has appeared in nine games with the Yellow Jackets in his three other seasons with the program, tied for the most experience of any walk-on. In those nine career games, Medlock has two points and one rebound but has not scored since his freshman year. He’ll look to get back on the scoreboard this season in his limited opportunities.

No. 55 G Malachi Rice (SR):

Finally, we have senior guard Malachi Rice who like Medlock has appeared in nine games for the Yellow Jackets throughout his career thus far. That being said, Rice has yet to record a point, rebound, or assist during his career, perhaps the 2020-21 season will finally be the year for Rice to get in the box sheet beyond minutes played. But like the others, he’ll have to do so with limited opportunities.
