Former Georgia Tech starting quarterback James Graham has found his next home where he plans to finish his collegiate career.

A few weeks ago before Thanksgiving, Georgia Tech backup quarterback James Graham entered the transfer portal after limited playing time in 2020, a year that followed Graham as being the Jackets full-time starting quarterback for most of the season.

This past weekend, Graham announced he has found his new home and the place where he plans on finishing out his collegiate career. Posting a graphic on Twitter, saying he’s committed to playing for the Georgia Southern Eagles.

Graham will join a Georgia Southern program that went 7-5 in 2020 under head coach Chad Lunsford. The Eagles have only been in the FBS ranks for seven seasons, joining back in 2014. Since then, the Eagles have had only two losing seasons (2016, 2017) and have been under Lunsford’s direction since 2017 as he took over following the dismissal of Tyson Summers after an 0-6 start. Lunsford during his career at Georgia Southern has collected a record of 26-18.

The transfer will also mean that Graham will rejoin the type of offense he started his collegiate career in, the triple-option offense. Graham, of course, was recruited to The Flats by then-head coach Paul Johnson. Graham in his first year with the team, under Johnson at the time, spent time both at wide receiver and quarterback.

Graham finishes his career with the Yellow Jackets passing for 1,271-yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while rushing for 338-yards and three touchdowns. Yellow Jacked Up wishes James all the best going forward and with his career at Georgia Southern.
