Georgia Tech Basketball vs Loyola Chicago Game Time Announced
Georgia Tech Men’s Basketball fans have had to wait for over a decade to see the Yellow Jackets make the NCAA Tournament and they had to wait a little longer to find out when exactly the Jackets hopeful run for an NCAA title will begin. That wait is over as the tip-off times, television networks, and broadcast teams were announced on Sunday evening for the NCAA First-Four as well as the First Round contests.
The Yellow Jackets (17-8, 11-6), the No.9 seed in the Midwest Regional will take on the Missouri Valley Conference’s Loyola-Chicago Ramblers (24-4, 16-2), the regional’s No.8 seed at 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon with the game televised on TBS. The Jackets and Ramblers will play at Hinkie Fieldhouse, the home of the Butler Bulldogs. On the call for the game will be the great team of Jim Nantz, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill, Tracy Wolfson.
Play will kick off on Thursday evening with the NCAA First Four play-in games. The first game up will be No.16 seeds Texas Southern and Mount St. Mary’s tipping off at 5:10 p.m. on truTV. All four First Four games will take place on Thursday night.
The first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament will begin on Friday at 12:15 p.m. between No.10 Virginia Tech and No.7 Florida, out of the South Regional. Overall, 16 games will be played throughout Friday and 16 games will be played throughout Saturday. The second round of the tournament will begin on Monday and go through Tuesday before the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight being played through March 27 to March 30. The two Final Four games are currently set for April 3 and the National Championship will take place on April 5.
Games throughout the tournament will be played at six different venues, those being; Assembly Hall, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Farmers Coliseum, Lucas Oil Stadium (split into two courts), Hinkle Fieldhouse, and Macky Arena.
