3. Manny Bates, C, N.C State

Last but most certainly not least we have Manny Bates. Bates did not play more than one minute in the 21-22 season due to a shoulder injury. But he is still one of the most talented players in the portal and would fill one of Georgia Tech’s biggest holes which is a center.

Bates stands at a staggering 6-foot-11 and weighs in at 230-pounds. Now as I stated he did not play last season but here are his number from his 20-21 season. 9.8 PPG, 2.7 BPG, 5.9 RPG, and shot 64.1% from the field.

Bates would by far be one of the best transfer grabs in recent memory for Georgia Tech. The only problem is that he is a hot commodity around the college basketball world. Having received calls from schools such as Auburn, Ohio State, Texas Tech, Illinois, and multiple others it will be a very tough get for Josh Pastner, but not impossible.

Final Thoughts on these three targets

Those are my three favorite transfer portal targets that I think would make a great fit and improve Georgia Tech going forward. I think Manny Bates will be really hard to acquire but you never know with college athletes. But in the end, I am excited to see what Georgia Tech does with these five scholarships and I cant wait to see the team’s improvement next season.
