As Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball has won four of its past five games, one second-year player has emerged as a consistent contributor.
Sophomore forward Baye Ndongo is averaging 17.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game for the Yellow Jackets in that stretch. Ndongo converted a game-winner for the Yellow Jackets in the team's most recent game, a 90-88 overtime win over Cal.
Ndongo exploded against the Golden Bears for 26 points and 13 rebounds. He shot 11-14 from the field, including his first made 3-pointer since Jan. 14.

The Yellow Jackets recently added two impressive wins over Clemson Louisville, two teams that are tied for 2nd place in the ACC. On the road at Clemson on Feb. 4, Ndongo posted 18 points and 13 rebounds on 6-11 shooting. He played 53 minutes in the 89-86 triple-overtime win against the Tigers. In the Yellow Jackets' 77-70 victory over No. 21 Louisville, Ndongo scored 12 points and added 11 rebounds.
Ndongo's averaging 12.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per night this season. He's shooting 53.3% from the field and 60.6% at the free throw line. His rebounds per game number is No. 54 in the country among active players.
Ndongo, a Mboro, Senegal native, posted similar numbers as a freshman for the Yellow Jackets. He averaged 12.4 points and 8.2 rebounds on 55.8% shooting. He was named to the ACC All-Rookie team and was a finalist for the Kyle Macy Award, which is given annually to the nation's top freshman.
Ndongo and the Yellow Jackets (13-13, 7-8) will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday at Boston College. Tech is tied for 8th in the ACC with Pittsburgh.
