The Denver Broncos will honor the late Demaryius Thomas this weekend. As the legendary wide receiver is inducted into the team’s Ring of Fame. The celebration is part of the organization’s annual Alumni Weekend, which will wrap up with the Broncos’ Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants.

Thomas, who starred at Georgia Tech from 2007 to 2009, redshirting his first year. Left a lasting mark on college football before moving on to the NFL. During his final season in 2009. He earned third-team All-American and first-team All-ACC honors while helping the Yellow Jackets capture the ACC Coastal Division title and the conference championship.
His standout season featured 950 receiving yards and an eye-catching 25.1 yards per catch. Cementing his place among Georgia Tech’s all-time greats.
After college, Thomas became a cornerstone for the Broncos. Spending nine of his 10 NFL seasons in Denver. A five-time Pro Bowl selection, he played a crucial role in the team’s Super Bowl 50 victory. His remarkable career and leadership both on and off the field made him one of the most beloved players in franchise history.
Thomas passed away in December 2021 at the age of 33. His parents have said his death was linked to a seizure disorder that led to cardiac arrest, a finding later confirmed by autopsy.
On Saturday night, the Broncos will hold a private reception. Where team owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner will present Thomas’ parents with his Ring of Fame jacket and ring. The event will also reunite members of the Super Bowl 50 championship team, celebrating one of the most memorable eras in Denver Broncos history.
