Georgia Tech football continues to turn heads across the country. After entering their bye week ranked No. 17, the Yellow Jackets jumped four spots to No. 13 in the latest AP Top 25 poll. Their highest ranking in over a decade. The last time Tech cracked the top 15 was back in 2014.

At 5–0, the Yellow Jackets are one of college football’s biggest surprises this season. Head coach Brent Key’s team has found its rhythm on both sides of the ball, blending balance, toughness, and belief. Now, after a well-timed bye week, Georgia Tech returns home to Bobby Dodd Stadium this Saturday to face Virginia Tech (2–3).

The Hokies, meanwhile, are going through a season to forget. With early struggles, staff turnover, and uncertainty around leadership, it’s been a bumpy start in Blacksburg. That contrast sets the stage for Georgia Tech to build on its momentum and continue its rise in the playoff conversation.

Chasing a milestone

Saturday also carries historic bragging rights. A win would put the Jackets at 6–0 for the first time since the 1950s . A milestone that would further solidify their return to relevance. With a manageable schedule ahead and confidence soaring. Georgia Tech controls its own destiny in the ACC race.

Fans can expect Bobby Dodd Stadium to be electric at kickoff. The energy around the program is the highest it’s been in years, and with the Jackets sitting just outside the top 10, there’s a growing sense that something special is brewing on The Flats.

Kickoff between Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech is set for 3:30pm, in Atlanta.
