Georgia Tech volleyball reached a historic milestone in their most recent match against Florida State . The Yellow Jackets earned their 900th program win with a clean 3-0 sweep over Florida State.
The victory also marked their first conference sweep of the year, moving the team to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in ACC play. The 900-win mark is more than a number. It shows the program’s steady success and staying power in college volleyball. Much of that comes under head coach Michelle Collier, who has guided the team with a calm and consistent approach.
Coach Collier's leadership
In a 2024 interview with The Sports Inquirer, Collier explained the mindset. “Not being too hyped when we win and not being too crazy when we lose”. That balance, she added, helps players trust their work and let results follow.
The milestone also reflects the backing of the athletic department and the loyalty of the fans. Support was clear earlier this month when the Jackets set a new program attendance record. On September 19, 5,478 fans filled McCamish Pavilion for the rivalry showdown with Georgia. The “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” match showed how much excitement volleyball is bringing to campus.

The win over Florida State adds momentum as Georgia Tech turns its focus to the rest of the ACC schedule. The record may sit just above .500, but the Jackets have proved they can battle with top teams. Collier’s group continues to celebrate the program’s past while pushing forward to its next goal.
For Georgia Tech, last Sunday’s sweep was more than a win. It was a miestone for the years of hard work, consistency, and connection. And places the proram among the elite history in college volleyball. The Yellow Jackets volleyball team is back in action this Saturday at SMU.
