The No. 13 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets moved to 6–0 after a convincing win over Virginia Tech. It was another strong showing for a team that continues to climb the ACC ladder. The win made the Yellow Jackets bowl eligible, with bigger goals still within reach.

Next up is a road trip to Durham. The Yellow Jackets face the 4–2 Duke Blue Devils on Saturday. Oddsmakers opened the game with Georgia Tech as a slight underdog. Sunday morning they were a 1.5 point underdog.

Behind quarterback Haynes King, Georgia Tech has built real momentum. The Jackets never trailed against the Hokies and looked sharp in all phases. Running back Malachi Hosley added balance to the offense. Giving the team another big-play threat. Hosley averaged 11.7 yards per rush, and finished with 129 rushing yards, with one touchown. Haynes King threw for a touchdown and ran for two touchdowns.

Head coach Brent Key praised his team’s mindset after the win.

“We preach no scoreboard,” Key said. “Play every play, regardless of what happened on the last. Football’s imperfect, but we want to keep improving and play a complete 60-minute game.”

During the week Brent Key asked the fans to get there early and be loud. Key thanked Georgia Tech fans for their energy and support.

“The students are awesome,” he said. “They’ve worked hard to fill the stands, and it makes a huge difference for our players.”

The Yellow Jackets’ path to Charlotte and the ACC Championship Game remains within reach. To keep that dream alive, they’ll need another disciplined effort on the road. King and Hosley will once again be the keys to success against a tough Duke defense.

A win in Durham would push Georgia Tech to 7–0 and make the buzz around the Flats even louder. Kickoff is set for noon on Saturday, October 18.
