Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball has been streaking of late, recording back-to-back wins over No. 21 Louisville and Clemson, two teams that are tied for second in the ACC.

In the two matchups, no player has been more important to the Yellow Jackets (11-12, 5-7 ACC) than sophomore guard Naithan George. Versus the Cardinals, George scored 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting. He also posted nine assists to just two turnovers.

The win over Louisville, which was on a 10-game win streak heading into the game, was the first ranked victory for the Yellow Jackets since Jan. 30, 2024, when it defeated No. 3 North Carolina.

On Tuesday, Georgia Tech ended Clemson's six-game win streak when it defeated the Tigers 89-86 in triple overtime on the road. Against a stout Tigers defense, George exploded for 28 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

George has been bright spot this season for Tech, as he's averaging 11.8 points per game and shooting 40.4% from the field. But his biggest strength has been his passing. His 6.3 assists per game ranks 12th nationally and is the highest per game average since Drew Barry's 6.6 in 1995-1996.

George played a significant role for Damon Stoudamire's team last season, becoming the first freshman point guard to start for the Yellow Jackets since Jose Alvarado in 2017-2018. In 29 appearances last year, he averaged 9.8 points and 4.7 assists per game.

Dating back to a win over Virginia Tech on Jan. 22, Tech has won three of its past four games, with the only defeat in that stretch being a 71-68 loss at Notre Dame. The Yellow Jackets are tied for ninth in the ACC and are in solid position to make the ACC Tournament ahead of today's road tilt against Virginia.
