3 Worst head coach hires in Georgia Tech football history
Georgia Tech has had four coaches inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. They have had a lot of success, but they have also gone through tough times. So who are the coaches that had it the worst with the Yellow Jackets?
Bill Lewis took over for Bobby Ross after he chose to leave for a job with the San Diego Chargers. Lewis was never able to make it to six wins and did not even finish his final season in 1994 where he "resigned" but most people believe he was effectively fired.
Here is a breakdown of Lewis' time with the Yellow Jackets.
- 1992: 5-6, 4-4 conference
- 1993: 5-6, 3-5 conference
- 1994: 1-7, 0-6 conference
Lewis did not leave on good terms with Georgia Tech and in conference play the Yellow Jackets just seemingly got worse in each season.
