Georgia Tech football mock draft: Where will the Yellow Jackets be picked in 2024?
Georgia Tech made good strides in 2023, especially after their season in 2022. In 2022, the Yellow Jacket fans were begging other teams to win so that they could get a new head coach. Well, they got that wish after UCF beat them 27-10. Just two days later, athletic director Todd Stansbury and head coach Geoff Collins were fired and a new era began.
It is not like the Yellow Jackets were in contention for an ACC title in 2023, but they did end the season 7-6 with a win in the Gasparilla Bowl over UCF, the team that helped them out just a year earlier. Brent Key, who played at Georgia Tech, is the one to thank for the turnaround. He was named head coach in November 2022 and since has shown he can win.
Now Georgia Tech has five guys going into the draft. Looking at projections and where these players rank in their positions, it doesn't look like any of these guys will be drafted, but they all have the potential to be solid undrafted free agents. If any of these guys were to be drafted, it would likely be sometime in the seventh round and most likely late in the seventh round.
Georgia Tech had solid players this past year and with the direction they are moving in, even though it is early in Key's tenure with the Yellow Jackets, they could hear some names called next year from their squad.
Here is the list of players who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft and will most likely be signed as undrafted free agents.
- LB Paul Moala
- TE Chris Miller
- OG Pierce Quick
- LB Braelen Oliver
- WR Christian Leary
