In the first edition of the Georgia Tech football notebook, Yellow Jacked Up takes a look at the line against Duke, UGA kickoff time updates, and Brant Mitchell taking home player of the week honors.

Welcome to the first edition of the Georgia Tech Football notebook. Going forward, there will be Georgia Tech Football and Georgia Tech Basketball notebooks that takes a look at relevant information that might not have been enough for an article by themselves but is worth a brief discussion. That being said, lines for games will be their own articles going forward except this week.

Jackets open as 8-point favorites over Duke:

The Yellow Jackets are coming off a big win over the Virginia Tech Hokies last Saturday and now look to earn their sixth win against Duke this upcoming weekend.

The Blue Devils started the season off hot winning their first four games. Since then, they have lost out including a loss to Pittsburgh. Duke fans will be sick of the triple-option offense after this week as the Blue Devils faced off against Army last week, taking a 21-16 loss.

The Yellow Jackets up and down season had another bright spot last weekend with the win over Virginia Tech and cannot afford a let down against the Blue Devils, with UGA left on the schedule. A win on Saturday against Duke will give the Yellow Jackets six wins, officially making them bowl eligible. A loss would leave them with five wins and needing a win over Georgia to get bowl eligible. While they could still make a bowl game with five wins, the chances are much less likely.

The Jackets are 7-1-1 against the spread this season after their win over Virginia Tech. The Jackets only loss against the spread this season came against Virginia while they “tied” the spread of 14-points against Clemson.
