We take a look at developments regarding two Georgia Tech targets and one current commit who could be going elsewhere.

The 2018 recruiting class currently sits at 19 players with 18 of those signed. We’ll give an update on the lone non-signee later in the article. With just three weeks left until National Signing Day, the Georgia Tech football coaching staff is looking to round out the class.

Valdosta QB Barrett gets on campus:

This past weekend, the Tech football staff had Valdosta, Georgia native Michael Barrett on campus. The three-star prospect is listed as an athlete on his 247Sports profile and is considered a top-100 player in the state.

Barrett for a while seemed to be a lean towards Michigan but differences about where Barrett would play for the Wolverines seem to have distanced them from the three-star.  The Jackets as many know received a commitment from four-star quarterback James Graham during the early signing period. That being said, it will be interesting to see if the Jackets view Barrett as a quarterback or B-Back

At 5-foot-11 and 215-pounds, Barrett could fit in nicely for the Jackets at B-Back, which is also a position they could use more depth at going forward. At this point, it would be shocking if Barrett doesn’t end up on The Flats.

Flemister a flip to Tennessee?:

Last month, the Jackets received a commitment from three-star running back C’Bo Flemister. Despite committing just two weeks before the early signing period, Flemister didn’t sign with the Yellow Jackets.

Last weekend, Flemister visited Tennessee who has had a ton of recruiting success since Jeremy Pruitt took over the program last month.  Flemister wouldn’t be an absolutely huge loss roster-wise for the Jackets as they do have depth at the A-Back position.

Flemister’s commitment to the Jackets definitely isn’t a strong one and the visit to Tennessee isn’t good news for the Jackets. Watch for a potential Flemister to flip to the Volunteers in the upcoming weeks.

Developments on Jamarcus Chatman:

Last month, it was noted that Jamarcus Chatman could be a player to watch out for. The Rome, Georgia native decommitted from Tennessee and it looked like Tech could be a player for the 6-2, 258-pound defensive lineman.

Since then, it seems the Jackets are in quite the hole. Chatman currently has taken one official visit to North Carolina and has two more set up to Florida State and Michigan State. Unless the Jackets get a surprise visit out of Chatman for the last weekend prior to signing day, the Jackets have no chance of landing Chatman.
