Experienced Head Coaches/For Fun Board:

We don’t think these coaches should necessarily be recommended for the job but would certainly be interesting options. Feel free to laugh at this section because honestly, there are not many intriguing options currently out there who would probably leave their current job for Georgia Tech.

Once again, this our FOR FUN BOARD.

Lane Kiffin – FAU Head Coach

It’s safe to say this would be a controversial choice but it’s also safe to say that Kiffin knows how to recruit and field a good offense. If he keeps Nate Woody or brings in a strong defensive coordinator, it wouldn’t be a bad hire on paper. That being said, it would be a bold choice for Georgia Tech and probably one that wouldn’t go well with the fan base.

Kliff Kingsbury – Texas Tech (Hired by USC as their offensive coordinator)

The recently fired Texas Tech head coach is looking for a new job after six seasons with the Red Raiders. A bright offensive mind, Kingsbury will certainly bring offensive success to wherever he goes but he constantly struggled in fielding defenses during his time with Texas Tech. Kingsbury would be a bold option for the Yellow Jacket.

Next. Georgia Tech Football: Paul Johnson is officially stepping down as head coach. dark

Jim Tressel – Youngstown State President

Tressel is currently the president of Youngstown State and seems pretty content. But in terms of Tressel’s on the field accomplishments, we can sit here for a while. At 65, you’re not getting him for the long haul but he could certainly build the program. But it’s 99.9% never going to happen.

We’ll be adding to this big board as more names are talked about and more time goes into our thoughts about the head coaching search. You may see some names get added and some names get deleted as time goes on.
