Quarterback (5)

  • Lucas Johnson – Redshirt Junior
  • Tobias Oliver – Redshirt sophomore
  • James Graham – Redshirt freshman
  • Jordan Yates – Freshman
  • Demetrius Knight – Freshman

The Jackets should be set at quarterback for quite some time and if they dip into the transfer market eventually, they will be even more so. Lucas Johnson had a great spring and Tobias Oliver and James Graham still leave some questions. Jordan Yates should and probably will redshirt this seasons while Demetrius Knight future is in question in terms of what position he will be playing. He’s a tremendous athlete so, either way, he has a tremendous future.

Running back (6)

  • Jerry Howard – Junior
  • Jordan Mason – Redshirt sophomore
  • Christian Malloy – Redshirt freshman
  • Tony Amerson – Freshman
  • Devin Ellison – Freshman
  • Jamious Griffin – Freshman

Running back is a position that is pretty stacked for Georgia Tech and it’s easy to see why KirVonte Benson would be transferring away from the program. Coming off another knee injury, Benson chances of playing time was obviously limited this upcoming season. The Jackets have a strong top three at the position in Jerry Howard, Jordan Mason, and Christian Malloy. Howard may be one more of a fullback in the new system but time will tell. Out of three true freshmen, Amerson and Ellison will in all likelihood redshirt this season while Jamious Griffin has a quality chance of playing this upcoming season.

Flex (7)

These players are players that we believe could play in a variety of positions offensively for the Yellow Jackets.

  • Nate Cottrell – Redshirt senior
  • Omari Jarrett – Redshirt senior
  • Xavier Gantt – Redshirt freshman
  • Tijai Whatley – Redshirt freshman
  • Avery Showell – Redshirt freshman (plays CB, could see time at WR)

Wide Receiver (11)

  • Jalen Camp – Senior
  • Jair Hawkins-Anderson – Redshirt junior
  • Stephen Dolphus – Redshirt junior
  • Malachi Carter – Sophomore
  • Peje Harris – Redshirt freshman
  • Adonicas Sanders – Redshirt freshman
  • Marquez Ezzard – Redshirt freshman
  • Nazir Burnett – Freshman
  • Ahmarean Brown – Freshman
  • Kalani Norris – Freshman
  • Zack Owens – Freshman

The Jackets have a solid group of wide receivers entering this season led by Jalen Camp. Even after this season, the Jackets will have a solid group despite the future departure of Jalen Camp at the least. The Jackets added a transfer in Marquez Ezzard along with four freshmen, giving the Jackets a tremendous future at the position.

Tight End (3)

  • Tyler Cooksey – Redshirt senior
  • Tyler Davis – Redshirt senior
  • Dylan Deveney – Freshman

The Jackets moved Cooksey from linebacker to tight end giving them a group of three scholarship tight ends for 2019. That being said, next season, the Jackets will lose two of three of their tight ends, so recruiting the position will be important this cycle.

Offensive Line (13)

  • Jahaziel Lee – Senior (can also play DL)
  • Brad Morgan – Redshirt senior
  • Scott Morgan – Redshirt senior
  • Kenny Cooper – Senior
  • Jared Southers – Redshirt Senior
  • Connor Hansen – Junior
  • Jack DeFoor – Redshirt junior
  • Zack Quinney – Redshirt freshman
  • Charlie Clark – Redshirt freshman
  • Boe Tuefele – Redshirt freshman
  • Mike Minihan – Redshirt freshman
  • Harrison Jump – Redshirt freshman
  • Mike Maye – Redshirt freshman

Building a strong offensive line is a challenge for every program in the country and it won’t be any different for Georgia Tech. The Jackets will lose five offensive linemen following this season which will put the Jackets in a very tough position next season. The Jackets do have a quality group of redshirt freshman but don’t be surprised if the Jackets dip into the transfer market for an offensive lineman sometime again in the future.

Offensive Total: 44
