Our spring position previews continue, this time with a deep and talented running back group for Georgia Tech.

This week, we started our 2020 spring position previews with spring practices just around the corner. We started out with the quarterback position, which you could read, right here. While the quarterback position is seemingly wide open entering the spring with a few different quarterbacks possibly able to win the job this offseason, the running back room is a bit more set heading into the spring.

The Jackets No.1 running back this season will be without a doubt, junior Jordan Mason. Mason is simply an elite running back who hasn’t gotten enough respect from around the country for his performance last season and we’ll get to that more in a bit. Outside of Mason, it’s likely that Jamious Griffin starts as the No.2 running back this spring but entering the summer that is questionable as highly-touted recruit Jahmyr Gibbs will enroll this summer.

The third spot on the depth chart likely belongs to Christian Malloy (for now) but after that is where there are a bit of questions. That being said, barring catastrophic injuries to Mason, Griffin, Malloy, and Gibbs, the Jackets likely won’t have to worry about that far down the list, at least for 2020.

That being said, here’s what the Georgia Tech running back room looks like entering the spring.
