The Georgia Tech basketball team has seen a second and third player enter the transfer portal since their season came to an end last week.

The Georgia Tech basketball team earlier this week saw the departure of forward Evan Cole. On Wednesday, it was reported the Jackets would be losing a second and third player. This time, rising sophomore guard Asanti Price and rising junior Kristian Sjolund have both entered the transfer portal.

Price just finished his true freshman season with the Yellow Jackets after being a late addition to their 2019 recruiting class out of Columbia, South Carolina. According to his official Georgia Tech football program, Price appeared in 15 games for the Yellow Jackets this season and totaled 222 minutes of playing time on the court.

After making 10 appearances in the season prior to New Years, Price appeared sparingly in the final two months of the season for the Yellow Jackets. Following the turn of the calendar year, Price just appeared in five games for the Jackets and last appeared in a game on February 4th against the Virginia Tech Hokies.

When he was on the court, Price struggled to hit shots, shooting just 29.6% from the floor including 12.9% from beyond the arch. He finished the season with 40 points, 30 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals, and four blocks in his 15 games.

Sjolund, a native of Norway was a member of Georgia Tech’s 2018 recruiting class and has not seen the court since last season. Sjolund was in the transfer portal earlier this season but decided to withdraw from the portal. However, he is now once again back in the portal and wouldn’t be surprising if this time, it was for good.

During his time on the court in 2018, Sjolund played in 21 games for the Yellow Jackets and averaged 4.3 minutes per game. He averaged 3.0 points, 1.0 rebound, and 0.2 assists in those 21-games.

The Yellow Jackets finished off their season last Friday with an away victory over Clemson. However, the Jackets are ineligible for the NCAA postseason due to sanctions placed upon the program.
