Georgia Tech Football: Jackets Staying Busy on Recruiting Trail

While there is still a ton of uncertainty regarding the 2020 college football season, the Georgia Tech coaching staff is still receiving good news on the recruiting trail. Here are few notables from the last week and a half on the recruiting trail..

Jackets Pick Up Commitment No.19:

The Jackets picked up their 19th commitment in the 2021 recruiting class on Saturday night when three-star in-state safety Sirad Bryant made his commitment via Twitter. With the commitment, the Jackets ranks 33rd in the country by 247Sports and 22nd by Rivals. You can read more on Bryant’s commitment, here.

Tim Keenan Announces Top Five: 

One of the Yellow Jackets top targets at defensive tackle announced his top five on Sunday via Twitter. Four-star Birmingham, Alabama native Tim Kennan named the Yellow Jackets to his top five to go along with Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and UAB. He also announced he’d be making his commitment at the end of the month on August 29. Currently, it’s assumed that Alabama is the favorite for Keenan.

Marquise Brunson Announces Top-11:

As one defensive tackle prospect announced his top five, another DT target announced his top-11. Three-star Virginia Beach (VA) native Marquise Brunson announced last week his top-11 schools at this point in his recruitment with the Yellow Jackets on the list. Joining the Yellow Jackets are notable programs such as NC State, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Minnesota.

Cameron Ball set to make an announcement?

It seems like one of the Yellow Jackets top overall targets left on the board, Atlanta native Cameron Ball appears to be making an announcement perhaps even a commitment this upcoming Friday? The Tri-City standout alluded to some sort of announcement being made by him on Friday. Ball was considered a Georgia Tech lean but the Arkansas Razorbacks have been making a push for the three-star defensive tackle.

All in all, it’s been a busy last week and a half for Georgia Tech on the recruiting front. With the 2021 class filling up it will soon be time to look towards the 2022 recruiting class.
