On Monday, 247Sports, one of the country’s leading sources of high school recruiting information and rankings released their 2021 transfer ratings and rankings. Not every player in the transfer portal has received a rating but a solid chunk of them have. With that being said, here’s how each of the Yellow Jackets transfers stack up..

K Brent Cimaglia: The kickers did not receive any transfer ratings but based on high school ratings, Cimaglia was the third-best kicker available in the portal. He comes to The Flats hoping to solve the Jackets kicking problems, even if it’s just for one season. (Transfer story)

LB Ayinde Eley: Eley is the fourth-ranked inside linebacker in the portal with a rating of .8500, just narrowly behind another Maryland transfer linebacker in Chance Campbell who ended up at Ole Miss. The top two players at the position, Henry To’o To’o (Tennessee) and Palaie Gaoteote IV (USC) have yet to make their decisions. You can read our transfer profile on Eley, here.

OLB Kevin Harris: Harris is ranked as the sixth-best outside linebacker prospect with a rating of .8200.  Over his two seasons in Tuscaloosa, the Loganville, Georgia native did not see any game action.

WR Kyric McGowan: The Northwestern transfer did not receive any transfer rating from 247Sports. The Dalton, Georgia native comes to The Flats hoping to make a big impact in 2021 as the Jackets look to replace both Jalen Camp (NFL Draft) and Ahmarean Brown (transfer portal – Sotuh Carolina). Brown, was ranked as the 25th best wide receiver in the portal with a .8000 rating. (Transfer story)

OG Nick Pendley: 247Sports has Pendley as the 15th best offensive guard by rating with a rating of .8000. The Canton, Georgia native comes to The Flats with four years of eligibility.

DE Makius Scott: Scott is tied for the No.4 strongside defensive end in the transfer portal with a .8000 rating. Notably, he’s tied with former Yellow Jacket, Justice Dingle who will finish his collegiate career at Kentucky, where he’ll play with his brother Jordan.

CB Kenyatta Watson III: The Texas transfer is the Jackets’ second highest-rated transfer with a rating of .8400, good enough for the ninth-best amongst cornerbacks in the portal.

DE Keion White: The Jackets highest rated transfer, White is the No.1 ranked weakside defensive end in the transfer portal per 247Sports. He received an .8800 ranking by the service which was quite a bit higher than the No.2 ranked weakside defensive end in Auburn transfer Big Kat Bryant who has a rating of .8500. Overall, he was the 21st best player available in the transfer portal. (Transfer story)

Overall, the Yellow Jackets 2021 transfer portal haul is extremely solid and is full of players that should at the very least be solid contributors for the Jackets going forward. Players such as Cimaglia, Eley, and White seem likely to make bigger impacts sooner than later but overall, the transfer class will add great depth to the Jackets roster at some key positions.
