After four years with the Yellow Jackets, guard Michael Devoe will see if he has proved enough throughout his college career to be selected in the 2022 NBA Draft in two weeks. With time winding down for the former Yellow Jacket standout, Davoe made the most of his opportunity at a Los Angeles Lakers pre-draft workout if he wants buzz to be created about him throughout the league. The Lakers currently do not hold a draft pick, but could be shoppers on draft night as they try to get through an offseason riddled with many questions about their superstars.

In his four year career at Georgia Tech, Michael Devoe established himself as one of the premiere players on the Yellow Jackets roster, finishing in the top three on the team in points per game all four years. He was a major contributor on the 2020-2021 basketball team that gave Georgia Tech’s basketball program their first ACC Tournament Championship since 1993. He received the ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player award that season as well. Devoe was second on the team in assists per game his first three seasons, trailing only current NBA player Jose Alvarado, before becoming the team leader in assists last season.

Michael Davoe could be a great fit for the Los Angeles Lakers moving forward, as they are desperately looking for perimeter shooters to pair with their aging roster. Davoe was tenth in the ACC in made threes per game with 2.3 and placed third in points per game in the conference with 17.9.

The Lakers could pick up Devoe as an undrafted free agent if not drafted, as he is the 89th ranked prospect in the CBS 2022 NBA Draft Prospect Rankings, and the 23rd ranked point guard.
