The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets headed into their game to against the Marshall Thundering Herd with one of the strongest starts to the season on the mound, as the team has allowed four or less runs in every game this season heading into the game.
Jones would start the second game of the season for the Yellow Jackets last weekend against the Old Dominion Monarchs, where he would not record an out for the team and allow three runs on one hit, walking three batter and hitting one.
Yellow Jackets coach Danny Hall would make the decision to start junior Brady Jones for the second time this season to keep up that streak, and Jones did not disappoint.
The incoming transfer from Georgia State would walk the first batter he faced of the afternoon, but would retire the next three batter by way of a flyout and two groundouts.
Over the course of the next four innings, Jones would put together a masterful performance, as he would make it to the top of the third inning before he allowed a home run to Thundering Herd third baseman Eddie Leon homered out to left field. That would be the only hit that Jones would allow.
Jones would pitch a total of five innings for the Yellow Jackets, allowing one hit and one run. The junior pitcher would record seven strikeouts in the contest and walk two batters.
While his first outing was not something to rave home about, Jones did well in treating this start as a rebound game for himself.
