Georgia Tech’s remarkable 2025 campaign continues as the Yellow Jackets, now ranked No. 8 in the nation with an 8–0 record, head to Carter–Finley Stadium for a night-time showdown against NC State. The Jackets are in full control of their ACC destiny and remain firmly in the mix for both a conference championship berth and a potential College Football Playoff spot.

Head coach Brent Key has repeatedly emphasized one key theme this week — starting fast. Georgia Tech has had its share of slow openings on the road this season, something Key insists must change if they want to stay unbeaten. “Getting off to a fast start is critical, especially away from home,” Key said earlier this week. “We’ve talked about it, worked on it, and we have to find our rhythm early against a good football team.”

The Wolfpack will look to use their home crowd to create chaos, but Georgia Tech’s balanced attack, led by quarterback Haynes King, has proven difficult to contain. King has been a major catalyst behind the Jackets’ success, combining poise, accuracy, and mobility to engineer clutch drives week after week.

Davey O'Brien Class of 2025

After being named to the Davey O’Brien Award pre-season and mid-season watch list. King is now officially a candidate for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, joining elite company among the nation’s top signal callers. He has also earned growing buzz in the Heisman conversation as Georgia Tech’s offense continues to roll.

With the release of the Davey O’Brien Award Class of 2025, fan voting is now officially open. Supporters can help boost Haynes King’s chances by liking and sharing his personalized post on the Davey O’Brien social media pages (@daveyobrien on X, Facebook, and Instagram). Every fan interaction counts, as those votes will be factored into the selection committee’s scoring throughout the semifinal, finalist, and winner rounds.

The semifinalists will be chosen from this year’s Class of 2025 and revealed on November 12. Followed by the announcement of the three finalists on November 25. The winner of the 2025 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award will then be revealed during The Home Depot College Football Awards show, airing on ESPN on Friday, December 12.

As the Jackets take the field under the lights in Raleigh, their goal remains clear. Stay perfect, stay focused, and keep their championship dream alive.
