The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will feature a completely different team this season than they did last season, losing a ton of production from Naithan George, Duncan Powell, and Lance Terry, but not all is bad for the Yellow Jackets, as this gives players the opportunity to showcase what they can do, and one of those players will be guard Kowacie Reeves Jr.
Reeves was granted another season of eligibility by the NCAA after only seeing action in six games for the Yellow Jackets last season. And with the departure of key veterans, it leaves the floor open for the senior to possibly take control of the team.
Forward Baye Ndongo will be the best player on the court for the Yellow Jackets next season, but the leader of the team could lie on Reeves’ shoulders, being a senior.
Reeves will most likely switch between playing both guard positions but will see most of his playing time as a small forward and being a versatile perimeter defender.
Reeves has shown that he can produce on the court, as he put up 9.8 points per game in his first season with the Yellow Jackets to go along with 3.9 rebounds per game.
The defense for the Yellow Jackets was the weak spot at a lot of times, especially the perimeter defense, but having Reeves back and a set of fresh guards could be what head coach Damon Stoudamire and the Yellow Jackets need to advance the program, and Reeves could be the start of that.
