If you think of single football seasons for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for quarterbacks, a lot come in mind. Some fans may say the 2014 Justin Thomas season, some may say the Joe Hamilton 1999 season, and others may say the George Godsey 2000 season. However, in 2025, we could very possibly see another name added to that list: the Haynes King 2025 season.
King has but up two fantastic seasons for the Yellow Jackets so far, and if not for injuries that kept him out or limited for four games, his 2024 season would have been among the greats.
King showed a huge jump in progress in year two with the Yellow Jackets, and it seems imminent that he will take another huge leap next season, barring any injuries.
If we look at the 2025 schedule for the Yellow Jackets, we see that King will only face two elite defenses all season, against the Clemson Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs. The rest of the schedule seems to be defense that could be middle of the pack at best, aside from a slightly above average NC State defense.
Add in the offensive weapons added this offseason such as wide receivers Eric Rivers and Dean Patterson, and tight end JT Byrnes, the senior will have plenty of weapons at his disposal, despite losing star wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr in the offseason.
King is set up to thrive in 2025, and I think that he has one of the most memorable seasons that Yellow Jackets fans have seen or will ever see.
