After an 0-3 day yesterday that included a walk in the bottom of the eighth and him scoring the game-winning run, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets outfielder Drew Burress would come into the second game of the team's series against the Old Dominion Monarchs looking for his first big game of the season.

However, the Monarchs were able to contain Burress for his first three at-bats of the contest. He would reach base in his first at bat in the first inning due to a fielders choice, which resulted in Yellow Jackets shortstop Kyle Lodise getting thrown out at second base, but Monarchs second baseman Maverick Stallings could not make the throw to first in time to get the double play.

Burress would have his second at-bat in the third inning, and he would strike out swinging.

In the sixth inning, Burress would reach second base after a hit to left field, that looked like a routine fly ball, was dropped by Monarchs left fielder Luke Waters. Burress would reach third after a single by Kentucky Schmidt with no outs, but Parker Brosius would strike out swinging and Nathan Waugh would groundout to a double play to end the inning.

Burress would have his last at-bat of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning, coming to the plate with zero outs and bases loaded and the game tied 3-3. On the second pitch of the at-bat, Burress would make the biggest play of the season for the Yellow Jackets season so far as he would hit a walk off grand slam to secure a 7-3 Yellow Jackets victory.

Burress and the Yellow Jackets will be back in action tomorrow at 2pm Eastern time for the final game of their series against the Monarchs.
