After all is said and done with the 2025 NFL Draft, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will have four new additions to the NFL in what could be a pivotal showing for the Yellow Jackets moving forward.
Tight end Jackson Hawes was the first Yellow Jackets player taken in the draft, as he went No.173 to the Buffalo Bills, a place where he could flourish, as the Bills lined up in two tight end sets on 40% of their offensive snaps last season, and he would presumable be the third string tight end behind Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid.
The only other player drafted was defensive tackle Zeek Biggers, who will join the Miami Dolphins as the No.253 pick in the draft. Biggers could impress people in training camp as he competes for a roster spot in a position group that lacks depth.
The other duo of players signed UDFA contracts with teams that would offer them one. Offensive tackle Jordan Williams stays in Atlanta for at least the first training camp, as he signed with the Atlanta Falcons and will try to compete for a roster spot, and wide receiver Chase Lane will head to the New York Giants to try and wiggle himself into their wide receiver room.
All four players did amazing things for the Yellow Jackets in their time on the Flats, and I have no doubt in my mind that they will all capitalize on the opportunity that will be presented to them once training camp starts for their respective teams.
