In the midst of the college basketball offseason, teams are now officially having both incoming transfers from the transfer portal and incoming recruits from the 2025 class signing with their respective teams. For the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, it means that they now officially welcome Kam Craft to the team.
Craft played last season for the University of Miami (Ohio) Redhawks, where he was second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.6 points per game. However, one of the things that Yellow Jackets head coach Damon Stoudamire admired about Craft is his ability to knock down three-pointers.
“You can never have enough shooting and we got one of the best in the country in Kam,” said Stoudamire. “He has the ability to take and make tough shots. Kam is a welcome addition to our program,” said Stoudamire.
Kraft did shine in the area last season, as he made 43 .1 percent of his shots from beyond the arc last season.
Before transferring to the Redhawks last season, Craft was with the Xavier Musketeers, where he played in just 15 games in the 2022-23 season before redshirting for the 2023-24 season.
Craft joins a team that struggled from beyond the arc last season, ranking tenth in the ACC in three-point field goal percentage, making just 34.3 percent of their shots from beyond the arc. Kraft can for sure be a terrific addition to the team for next season, as they are looking for a guard that can knock down shots reliably.
Craft will join the Yellow Jackets with two years of eligibility remaining.
