With the college football offseason in full swing, it is now that time of year that we find out when our favorite teams will begin their season and what time the games will be. For Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fans, they can now rejoice as it was announced yesterday that their 2025 season opener against the Colorado Buffaloes will be played on Aug. 29 at 8pm Eastern time.

The announcement is one that Yellow Jackets fans have been anticipating since the announcement that the Buffaloes would be their season-opening opponent.

It is worth noting that that game will be played on a Friday night, instead of the traditional Saturday opener.

The Yellow Jackets will come into the 2025 season as one of the few dark horse teams that could make the ACC Championship game, as the sheer amount of returning production is enough to raise the eyebrows of any college football fan. Senior quarterback Haynes King will head into his last collegiate season with the best team around him that he has had in his entire career.

The Buffaloes on the other hand are looking to avoid a huge step back from last season, which seen the departure of Heisman-winning cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter and superstar quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

The times for all other games on the Yellow Jackets schedule have not been released yet, but it seems likely that most of the games for the Yellow Jackets will be in a prime-time slot like the game against the Buffaloes.
