After two rounds of the ACC baseball Tournament, which has featured tons of chaos, may just get one of the most surprising matchup in any conference tournament today. The California Golden Bears entered the tournament as the 16 seed, the lowest seed available, as they finished last in the ACC. They will now get their shot at knocking off the one seed in the tournament: the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The Golden Bears earned their right to face the Yellow Jackets after beating the Miami Hurricanes in the first round and then the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the second round, with neither game really being close either.

The Yellow Jackets got a double bye by being one of the top four seeds in the tournament, and will be in familiar territory when they take the field against the Golden Bears, as they swept them in a weekend series last month, where they outscored the Golden Bears 27-13 over the course of three games.

The Golden Bears offense has been on a tear through the first two rounds of the tournament, outscoring the Hurricanes and Demon Deacons by a combined score of 26-14.

The biggest path to victory for the Yellow Jackets in the game will be to score early and often, as the Golden Bears will undoubtedly have a ton of momentum heading into their contest.

The game for today is set for a 3pm Eastern first pitch, which will be the first time in the tournament that the Golden Bears will start a game later than 9am.
