After it looked like the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were down and out, losing seven games in a row last month, it seems as if that stretch was just a slump for the Yellow Jackets, as since then, the team has won eight of their past nine games, including this past weekend, when they won two of three games against the the-No.20 Louisville Cardinals.
The recent stretch has put the Yellow Jackets back into prominence on the national stage, as they moved back in the race for first place in the ACC, sitting tied with NC State and half a game behind Florida State.
The pitching for the Yellow Jackets has been a bright spot during the stretch, as they have only allowed more than five runs twice in their last eight games and allowing three or less runs in five of those games. This includes the pitching staff allowing just one run to the Cardinals in a doubleheader on Sunday.
The lineup for the Yellow Jackets down the stretch has not been what they were earlier in the season, but they still can make plays when they need to, resulting in the Yellow Jackets picking up huge wins late in the season.
The Yellow Jackets have a huge series coming up this weekend against the No.20 ranked Duke Blue Devils, as the Yellow Jackets sit one game ahead of the Blue Devils in the ACC standings, and with the season winding down, both teams will be looking to prove that they belong among the nations best teams.
