The lineup for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team should have been the least of their concerns heading into their semifinal matchup against the Clemson Tigers, after all, they did just tie the ACC Tournament single game record for home runs two days ago, so why would they not come into their semifinals matchup with all the confidence in the world? However, that confidence would quickly turn into despair and the Yellow Jackets would lose the contest, 9-4.

The Yellow Jackets did start the game on a roll offensively, and it even looked as if they could replicate their performance from Thursday. With one out and runners on first and second, Yellow Jackets right fielder Alex Hernandez would reach on a fielding error, but chaos ensued on the play, allowing Kent Schmidt to score from second base. A single by Yellow Jackets catcher Vahn Lackey would bring Hernandez home and suddenly the Yellow Jackets found themselves up 2-0.

The Yellow Jackets would grow their lead to 3-0 after a solo home run by designated hitter Drew Rogers. However, the Yellow Jackets would only score one more run during the contest, when Will Baker would bring home Caleb Daniel. By that time though, the Yellow Jackets lead had been erased, and the game would get out of hand, with the Yellow Jackets not scoring a single run for the last five innings of the game, while the Tigers lineup would continue to grow the lead.

The Yellow Jackets now await to find out where they will be seeded in the NCAA Tournament.
