The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team has come one day closer to finding out who they will play in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, as the action was on full display with four games yesterday, but the one that Yellow Jackets fans should have had their eyes on was the matchup between the Miami Hurricanes and California Golden Bears, as the winner would face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the second round, and the winner of that game would be the Yellow Jackets opponent in the quarterfinals.

The Golden Bears came into the tournament as the lowest-seeded team, so the Hurricanes came into their first-round matchup as heavy favorites, however the Golden Bears would defy the odds by defeating the Hurricanes in a game that was not even close, with the Golden Bears claiming a 12-2 victory.

The stars were out for the Golden Bears early and often, as Alex Borge would hit a two-run home run in the second inning to put the Golden Bears up 2-0, and then a double by PJ Moutzouridis would bring home two more runs and the Golden Bears suddenly found themselves up 6-0 in the top of the fourth inning.

Now, the Golden Bears will look to continue that momentum today, as they take on the Demon Deacons in a matchup that no one seen coming, and for a spot in the quarterfinals.

The Yellow Jackets are set for their matchup tomorrow against one of the two tomorrow, with first pitch at 3pm Eastern time.
