The bats for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team were hot entering their weekend series against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and they needed those to continue their momentum in the lineup. There was at least one Yellow Jackets player that seen the need for it and was up to the challenge: Kyle Lodise.

Lodise wasted little time making his presence known to the Fighting Irish, as he would hit a home run on just the second pitch of the game, enroute to hitting three home runs in the first game of the series, tallying up five RBIs in the game as well. Lodise would go 4-5 in the game. The only hit that Lodise had in the game that was not a home run, was a triple. It is the most home runs that a Yellow Jackets player has hit in a game since Drew Burress hit four in a single game against Georgia State last season.

In game two, Lodise would hit another home run, bringing total for the weekend up to five. The home run was part of another herculean effort by Lodise, as he would go 3-5 in the game, adding in two RBIs and a stolen base.

Lodise would unfortunately go 0-4 for the Yellow Jackets in the last game of the series earlier today.

In total, Lodise would go 7-14 over the course of the weekend, with four home runs, seven RBIs and a triple.

The Yellow Jackets and Lodise will be back in action Tuesday as they take on the Kennesaw State Owls at 6pm Eastern time.
