The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are set to continue their historic season with a postseason run after being selected for the NCAA National Tournament, and it could be one of the best Yellow Jackets teams that we have seen compete in the regional round.
The Yellow Jackets season has been one for the record books, as they have broken plenty of school records throughout the season, and claimed their first regular season ACC championship since 2005, a team that on the ACC Championship and won their region in the National Tournament.
The Yellow Jackets did get a win in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament over the California Golden Bear, but lost to the Clemson Tigers 9-4 in the semifinals of the tournament, resulting in the Yellow Jackets not being chosen as a region host site, and instead claimed a No.2 spot in the Oxford region, where they will battle it out with the Ole Miss Rebels, Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, and Murray State.
The action for the region will begin on Friday, when the Yellow Jackets take on the Hilltoppers in their first game of the tournament.
The Yellow Jackets should be heavy favorites in the region to face off against the Rebels for the region, as both teams are miles ahead of both Western Kentucky and Murray State in terms of talent, but one thing is a certain in college baseball, any team can be at any other team if they are hot enough and can develop some momentum.
