The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets basketball team headed into the offseason with optimism, after all, that were returning the ACC leader in assists per game last season in Naithan George, so they could survive losing Lance Terry, right? Well, the plan changed when George announced that he would be transferring to the Syracuse Orange in the offseason. Now with the Yellow Jackets scrambling trying to find a replacement, they received one of the greatest pieces of news in the entire offseason: senior guard Kowacie Reeves Jr has been granted another season of eligibility, and will be suiting up for the Yellow Jackets next season.

The announcement comes as Yellow Jackets head coach Damon Stoudamire was still trying to find a replacement for George, and Reeves now gives him someone that he can rely on as the primary ball handler for the team heading into the 2025 season.

Reeves only appeared in just six games last season before suffering a season ending injury, but was granted another season of eligibility for next season.

In his lone healthy season for the Yellow Jackets, Reeves averaged 9.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. However, Reeves gives the Yellow Jackets a perimeter threat, as he shot 41 percent from beyond the arc in his lone healthy season with the Yellow Jackets.

Reeves will join Lamar Washington, Kam Craft, and Jaeden Mustaf as the primary backcourt for the Yellow Jackets next season, one of the more intriguing backcourts in the ACC next season, so it will be interesting to see how the group meshes together.
