With the offseason that the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets program has had, that has included losing three of their top four scorers from last season, the Yellow Jackets got some good news yesterday, as former Miami (OH) guard Kam Craft announced that he would be joining the Yellow Jackets this season.
Craft is a 6'6" former four star recruit from Chicago that committed to Xavier in the 2022 recruiting cycle and then left to go to Miami (OH) after two seasons. In those two seasons at Xavier, Craft seen limited playing time as a freshman, then did not play his second year.
At Miami (OH), Kraft became a star for the team, as he would start in all 34 games for the Redhawks, showing his sustainability and his growth since Xavier. Craft would show teams just how well he could play in his lone season with the Redhawks, as he finished second on the team in points per game last season at 13.6.
Craft helped lead the Redhawks to a MAC Championship game appearance last season, but they would ultimately lose to the Akron Zips in a classic, 76-74, which seen the Zips win on a made layup with two seconds left in the game. Craft would score 11 points in the contest.
Perhaps his best ability is his three point shooting, and that is an area that the Yellow Jackets could use a lot of help in, as they finished tenth in the ACC in three point field goal percentage.
