With the college basketball season winding down, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will need one final push to ensure that they will make an appearance in the ACC conference tournament, and that push starts tomorrow as the Yellow Jackets will host the No.21 ranked Louisville Cardinals.
The Yellow Jackets head into the game losers of their last four of five games, including a three-point loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish the last time the team took the court. The Cardinals on the other hand, have caught fire as of late. After a 6-5 start to the season, the Cardinals have reeled off ten straight wins.
The college basketball world has took notice of the team’s recent success, as they joined the AP Poll Top 25 for the first time this season last week.
For the Yellow Jackets, a win would give them their first win this season to a ranked team, as they are currently 0-4 in such games, and losing by an average margin of 14.2 points per game.
The Cardinals boast one the best offenses in the ACC, averaging 79 points per game, good for fifth place in the conference, and are a top three rebounding team as well in the conference, averaging 38.3 rebounds per game.
If the Yellow Jackets stand a chance to upset the Cardinals, their best bet is to rely on big men to disrupt the Cardinals rebound opportunities and control the game tempo by limiting the Cardinals possessions.
The contest is set to tip off tomorrow at 3:45pm Eastern time.
