The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets dropped their fourth game of the season last night, as the No. 21 ranked Oklahoma Sooners walked away with a 76-61 win to extend their record to 8-0 this season.

The Yellow Jackets showed promise early, at one point being up 17-6 in the first half. However, the team lost it’s footing after that, despite heading into the locker room at halftime up 34-30. The Yellow Jackets would come out in the second half unprepared for the onslaught that the Sooners brought, as they didn’t make a field goal for the first 7:33 of the second half, missing all eight field goal attempts to start the half.

Perhaps the biggest difference of the night was the number of times that the Sooners were sent to the free throw line. They outpaced the Yellow Jackets 30-18 in free throw attempts, and add in that the Sooners made 26 of those 30 shots, and it proved to be too much for the Yellow Jackets to overcome.

Freshman Jaden Mustaf led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 16, while Lance Terry finished just behind him with 14 points. Duncan Powell had a standout performance, finishing with his first double-double of the season, with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The Sooners had 5 player in total finish with double-digits point totals, led by freshman Jeremiah Fears, who dropped 18.

The Yellow Jackets will be in action again Saturday at 2pm Eastern, as they take on the No. 20 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels.
