On3.com took to social media platform X to release their way-too-early college football top 25 for 2025, and while there were some surprises, one that may come to surprise to a few is who is sitting at No.24 on the list: the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Writers Ari Wasserman and Andy Staples broke down the reasoning for the team's on the list, with Wasserman writing, "Believe it or not, Georgia Tech is returning Haynes King, who has seemingly been in college since 1994. All jokes aside, he is a very productive player when healthy. The team lost Eric Singleton in the portal, but brought in transfers Eric Rivers and Dean Patterson from FIU to assist in keeping its passing game on point. Georgia Tech is a strong, physical team and should be a fun watch again in 2025."

The Yellow Jackets are returning a large amount of production from last season, and as Wasserman wrote, they fixed the receiver position, which was up in the air after the departure of Eric Singleton Jr, adding Patterson and Rivers, but they also added another prospective receiver in Debron Gatling from South Carolina.

Last season was perhaps the best for the team since 2014, which saw the Yellow Jackets get an Orange Bowl victory over Mississippi State.

If the Yellow Jackets would start the season ranked in the AP Top 25, it would be the first time that the team has started the season ranked since 2016, when they started the season ranked No.16.
