The Georgia Tech women's basketball team is coming off of it's first loss of the season after starting 15-0, a heartbreaking double overtime loss to ACC for Virginia Tech. However, that may not have been the biggest storyline from the game for the Yellow Jackets, as freshman guard Dani Carnegie went down with an apparent hamstring injury. Carnegie was the catalyst of the fast start to the season for the Yellow Jackets, as she had won the past four ACC Freshman of the Week awards before the injury, and averaged 15.1 points per game, good for second-most on the team. With one of the team's top contributors now out, the Yellow Jackets will look to other players to step up in more prominent roles, and one of those players could very well be Junior forward Kara Dunn.

Dunn has shown her ability to lead a team on the court during her time with the Yellow Jackets, as she currently leads the team in points and finished .1 points per game behind Tonie Morgan last season for the team lead. With Dunn already being a star for the team, her reliance in big games now becomes even greater, which could propel her play to the next level in Carnegie's absence or limited role until she gets healthy.

Dunn scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season in the loss to Virginia Tech, and has been on a tear this season, averaging a team-high 15.9 points per game and scoring at least 12 points in each of the Yellow Jacket's last ten games.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action tomorrow, as they travel to Louisville to take on the Cardinals at 4pm Eastern time.
