Georgia Tech gets first ranked win of season over No.21 Louisville 77-70

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets entered their contest with the No.21 ranked Louisville Cardinals 0-4 against ranked teams this season, and came out of the game with their biggest win of the season thus far, as they came back from a 38-28 deficit at halftime to secure a 77-70 victory over the Cardinals.

Both teams had their offenses start the game red hot, as the two teams would combine for 31 points in the first five minutes of the game, and make 13 of their first 18 shots of the game.

However, the Cardinals would pull away from the Yellow Jackets in the first half thanks to a six-minute stretch where the Yellow Jackets didn’t score a single point.

The Cardinals would lead by as much as 11 in the first half of the contest.

The Yellow Jackets would slowly crawl their way back into the game, eventually building enough momentum to go on a 10-0 run to tie the game at 49 with 12:48 remaining in the game, before going on a 9-0 run later in the quarter to go up 60-52 on the Cardinals.

The Cardinals would try to fight back late, as they shrunk the Yellow Jackets lead down to four with 1:09 left to play, but the Yellow Jackets would not allow the Cardinals to make a shot after that, securing a 77-70 victory.

All but one Yellow Jackets that seen game time in the contest would score at least ten points, with Lance Terry leading the way with 23. Naithan Georgia nearly put up a double double with 15 points and nine assists, while Baye Ndongo would put up a double double, finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Javian McCollum would score 12 points, while Duncan Powell would score 11 points.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Tuesday, as they take on the Clemson Tigers.
