Georgia Tech has signed only one offensive transfer in the Spring transfer portal

Even though the Spring transfer portal opened up just two weeks ago, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key has been a busy man, already signing five transfers from the recruiting cycle, but one thing is glaringly obvious: Key and the Yellow Jackets are not looking for offense in the portal.

The Yellow Jackets still have only signed one offensive player in the Spring transfer cycle, and that one player is offensive tackle Malachi Carney, which don't get me wrong, is a good pickup, but I would like to see the Yellow Jackets add some more depth in the offensive line, particularly the interior line.

I get that the returning production for the Yellow Jackets will be insane this season, but the team should be looking at adding in a few young players that are looking for future opportunities, such as wide receivers. I know that the position group for the team is great shape for this upcoming season, but Eric Rivers and Dean Patterson are seniors and with them playing crucial roles in the receiving core this season, the Yellow Jackets will be missing major production next season.

Another position group that I am slightly concerned about is the running back position, as I would like to see more depth in the backfield. With Jamal Haynes being a senior, the future of the position is something that all Yellow Jackets fans should be worried about, even with the addition of Malachi Hosley from Penn in the Fall transfer portal.
