The 2025 Spring transfer portal is all about one thing: adding depth pieces to your team to round out your roster, and I think that Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key is doing just that, as he has been making some huge splashes in the Spring transfer portal.

I love that Key has been adamant on adding players in positions that make sense, mainly the fact that he has added in crucial players in the secondary, where the Yellow Jackets could use a few roster spots.

With newly named defensive coordinator Blake Gideon from the Texas Longhorns coming in, Key wants to let Gideon know that he is not afraid of going after position groups on defense to better the team. This includes a trio of commitments that could help the secondary in a lot of ways moving forward. Those two guys are Jyron Gilmore and Savion riley, who are both coincidentally safeties.

Key did not stop there though. Key would add yet another secondary piece, as he landed Jon Mitchell out of Penn state, who will come in with four years of college remaining. Another player that the Yellow Jackets got was Akelo Stone from Ole Miss, who previously played for the Yellow Jackets for two seasons before transferring to ply for the Runnin' Rebels.

I love all of these defensive moved that the Yellow Jackets are taking, as Key has really focused on bringing in depth pieces more than anything, Mitchell from Penn State was a guy who can make an immediate inplact.
