After a sluggish first half, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets stormed back. With a strong second-half performance. To do something that hasn’t been done in nearly 60 years, start the season 7-0.
Saturday’s win over Duke was a big one. The Blue Devils had been undefeated in conference play, but Tech found a way to pull away late, and stay perfect.

Then There Were Two
Now, only two ACC teams remain unbeaten in conference play: Georgia Tech and Virginia. The Cavaliers escaped Washington State with a 22-20 win, while Tech’s victory pushed them to 4-0 in the ACC and 7-0 overall. Virginia sits at 3-0 in the conference and 6-1 overall.
The Yellow Jackets entered the weekend ranked No. 12, and there’s a strong chance they’ll rise again when the new polls are released.
Looking ahead, Tech’s remaining schedule includes home games against Syracuse and Pittsburgh, plus road trips to NC State and Boston College. The regular season will close in style at Mercedes-Benz Stadium against in-state rival Georgia.
Pittsburgh currently stands as Tech’s toughest remaining ACC opponent. With a 5-2 record and a 3-1 conference mark.
Coach Brent Key’s team has a real opportunity to reach the ACC Championship Game — something fans have been waiting to see for years.
There’s still room for improvement, especially on offense. The Jackets have been outstanding in the second half of games but need to start faster to take pressure off their defense.
For now, though, The Flats are buzzing again. Georgia Tech football is 7-0, ranked among the nation’s best, and showing the heart and fight that has the fan base believing something special is happening in Atlanta.
