D1baseball.com has put out it’s list of players that made the 2025 All-American team, acknowledging the best of the best in college baseball, and while there were some surprises on the list, one name that college baseball fans knew would be in the list would be Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets outfielder Drew Burress.
Burress was named to the organizations preseason All-American team after his historic freshman season, which you could make the case was the best freshman season of anyone to come through the Yellow Jackets program.
Burress followed that season up with a sophomore season for the ages, as he led the team in doubles with 23 and runs with 77. Burress also proved himself as one of the best power hitters on the team, hitting 16 home runs, the second most on the team, behind only freshman phenom Alex Hernandez.
Burress was by far the most patient player at the plate for the Yellow Jackets, as he finished with a team leading 53 walks, 19 more that the second place Hernandez on the team. So not only was Burress putting up a great season at the plate, but he was doing it while proving that he had an uncanny eye for the strike zone and did it efficiently.
The announce makes it the fifth organization that will feature Burress on their All-American team, making him the only position player to make five, and joining Florida State pitcher Jamie Arnold as the only two players overall to make five.
