The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, at one point this season, looked like the best lineup in all of college baseball, but that was before they started five-game losing streak, that is currently active, and not only are they losing right now, but the lineup is looking downright dreadful as the college baseball season heads towards the end of the season.
The Yellow Jackets lineup has only scored eight runs in their last five games and have suddenly looked like they drop all the way from the No.13 spot that they were in ten days ago, to unranked if the they do not sweep the Virginia Cavaliers in their weekend series.
Usually, I do not try to place blame on one player alone, but Yellow Jackets center fielder Drew Burress has no played as well as he needs to over the past five games, as he has only recorded two hits for the team, and it is a big reason why the Yellow Jackets are slipping down in rankings.
Burress came into the season being the No.1 ranked sophomore in the entire country, so having slumps like this are not usual for him, and if he wants to keep his draft stock up, he has got to start being productive, especially towards the end of the season.
The Yellow Jackets are in a free fall right now, and they need a player that is going to step in and lead the team the rest of the way, and Burress needs to be that guy for them.
