The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets headed into their contest last night with the Miami Hurricanes 17-4, looking for another ACC win that would keep them in the race as one of the top seeds in the ACC tournament later this season. While it was close at times, the Yellow Jackets would outlast the Hurricanes by the tune of 77-66.

The Yellow Jackets would miss their first three shot attempts of the game, digging themselves into a whole at 7-0 quickly in the game. However, it took all of a quarter for the team to battle back and regain the lead, as they ended the first quarter up 16-15.

The Yellow Jackets would begin to pull away from the Hurricanes in the second quarter, leading by as many as five in the quarter, and heading into halftime up 33-30.

The Yellow Jackets would begin the second half of the game on a 12-4 run, taking control of the game, where they would eventually lead by 11 in the contest. The run was crucial as the Yellow Jackets started putting the game away.

That run would prove to be more than enough for the Yellow Jackets, as they would use the momentum to outscore the Hurricanes 44-36 in the second half, resulting in the 77-66 win for the Yellow Jackets.

Five players would score in double figures for the Yellow Jackets in the contest, with Kara Dunn and Zoesha Smith leading the team in points scored, as both finished with 16. Chazadi Wright would score 13 while Tonie Morgan would finish with 12. Dani Carnegie continued to struggle from three-point range in the contest, shooting 0-7 from beyond the arc, but would finish the game with 11 points.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Thursday to take on the SMU Mustangs at 7pm Eastern time.
