With the middle of the season approaching, teams are starting to find out what their biggest strengths and weakness are, and areas that they could use a little bit of a tune up in. For the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the area that I was worried about the most heading into the season was the starting pitching. However, the team has been a pleasant surprise in that area for the most part.

The opening day starter, Tate McKee, has been lights out this season, as he has gone at least 4.1 innings in every start that he has had this season. Even more impressive, may be the fact that he has not had more than three earned runs in an outing all season.

Other than his first start of the season, junior pitcher Brady Jones has been a solid arm at times on the mound, as he has gone five innings in three of his six starts this season, including going five innings against the Clemson Tigers, allowing just one run to one of the best lineups in the ACC this season.

Sophomore Riley Stanford rounds out the trio lineup for the Yellow Jackets, which the three have combined for 21 starts on 28 games for the Yellow Jackets. Stanford has been hot and cold throughout the season, boasting a 5.79 ERA this season, and has gone at least three innings in all but one of his starts this season.

The three pitchers have combined for 105 strikeouts this season.
